Abstract
The study was conducted from February 2020 to June 2020 by applying tools of interview based on semi-structured questionnaire in order to assess strpipped catfish culturing in Soc Trang recently. Study result showed that striped catfish culturing was carried out by households and companies with the total land area of 168 hectares and 240 labours. Considering exclusively for commercial fish growing-out, this total area was 158.7 hectares with over 113.5 hectares of water surface and 230 labours. It was estimated that the amount of industrial feed used was about 580 - 660 tons for an eight-month crop to get the yield of 400 tons of fish/ha. Accordingly, the feed conversion ratio (FCR) fluctuated from 1.45 to 1.65. Overall, working capital costs to produce 1 kg of pangasius fish in both groups varied from 18,460 to 22,070 VND approximate to the selling price of the product.
