Abstract

Studying livelihood vulnerability of pond-aquaculture households of Nha Phu lagoon area was carried out from November 2022 to May 2023 by semi-structured interview method. Livelihood Vulnerability Index (LVI) considered includes 7 main components. These components are combined in a different approach to lead to the vulnerability index to climate change (LVI-IPCC) and to covid-19 (LVI-Covid19). Considering for the whole study region, the livelihood vulnerability for pond aquaculture households is only moderate with the value of 0.366. The Livelihood Vulnerability Index (LVI) of Ninh Ich, Ninh Loc and Ninh Ha is ranked in ascending direction, of 0.285; 0.356 and 0.410 respectively. To pond aquaculture households, LVI-IPCC for Ninh Ich, Ninh Loc and Ninh Ha is 0.009; 0.031 and 0.031 respectively; and LVI-Covid-19 for Ninh Ich, Ninh Loc and Ninh Ha is 0.007; 0.016 and 0.039 respectively. Overall, LVI-IPCC and LVI-Covid-19 are low, being 0.027 and 0.022 respectively.
