Abstract
The experiment was conducted on 60 broodfish Siganus guttatus with total length and body weight were 30.26 ± 2.26 cm and 506.27 ± 84.06 gram, respectively. Monthly changes of plasma 11-ketotestosterone (11-KT) levels in the breeding season and testicular stages of male rabbitfish (Siganus guttatus) in captivity were investigated by using Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). Testicular stages of development were observed and analyzed based on the sacle of Nikolski. The results included monthly changes and testicular stages in plasma 11-KT levels. The 11-KT levels were observed high at spermation stage and during June-July. These results contribute to further understanding of reproductive endocrinology in rabbitfi sh, which can be implicated for broodstock management and artifcial propagation.
