Abstract
The experiment was conducted on 60 broodfish Siganus guttatus with total length and body weight were 31.22 ± 2.28 cm and 606.67 ± 104.04 gram, respectively. There were 3 treatments in the study. Fish in treatment 1 (control) were injected with saline water; fish in treatment 2 were injected with 1500 IU hCG/kg and fish in treatment 3 were injected with 50 μg LHRH-A + 5 mg DOM/kg. Before and after injection at 12 hours and 24 hours interval, fish were sacrificed to collect gonads, evaluate mature degree and to analyze egg biochemical compositions. The results indicated that the egg biochemical compositions before and after injection were different for protein and lipid levels. The absolute fecundities varied from 420,632 to 732,353 egg per female depending upon the size of fish. The relative fecundities ranged from 826 to 1221 egg per g of female. Immature egg diameter varied between 53 and 148 μm, while mature egg diameter varied between 364 and 371 μm.
