Abstract
The research on the current state of marine fisheries resource protection in the coastal and inshore waters of Nghe An province provides a scientific basis to improve the effectiveness of marine fisheries resource protection and offers management solutions for the exploitation sustainably, on a survey basis to collect secondary and primary data in Nghe An province from 2021 to 2022. The results show that the specialized fisheries inspection force in Nghe An province is still lacking. Propaganda and dissemination of the provisions of the law and patrol, inspection, and control activities have been carried out regularly. However, the situations of breaching legal in fishery activities are still occurring in some fishing: 100% of fishing vessels work as trawls, stick-held falling and multiple traps violate mesh size, this rate in gill net and anchovy purse seine is 82.1% and 12.5% respectively; 14.4% of fishing vessels with the largest length from 6-<12 m regularly operate in the inshore water, 41.2% of fishing vessels from 12-<15 m often operate in the coastal water; especially for groups of fishing vessels <6 m that do not violate the fishing areas; 100% of fishermen stated that catch is decreasing.
