Abstract

     Studying the current status of fishing activities of the falling net fisheries in Phan Thiet city helps managers understand information about the fallingnet fisheries, thereby having appropriate management solutions for the fallingnet fisheries in the coastal areas. The surveyed results show that boats exploit the falling net fisheries in Phan Thiet city has 84 vessels/183 vessels of Binh Thuan province; The average yield is 440±155 kg/vessel/day for the group of vessels from 12<15m and 565±166 kg/vessel/day for the group of vessels from 15<24m; Average revenue/day is 12,30±5.23 million VND in the group of vessels with length from 12<15m and 9,53±3.53 million VND in the group of vessels from 15<24m in length, the group of vessels with a length of 12<15m is higher than the group of vessels of 15<24m; The average cost/day is 4,55±0.64 million VND in the group of vessels with length from 12<15m and 4,15±0.66 million VND in the group of vessels from 15<24m, the cost in the group vessels with a length of 12<15m are higher than those of a group of vessels of 15<24m; The average daily profit is 7,75±4,87 million VND in the group of vessels with the length of 12<15m and 5,38±3,27 million VND in the group of vessels from 15<24m in length.
