Nghiên cứu và chuyển giao công nghệ trong lĩnh vực khai thác hải sản tại Trường Đại học Nha Trang

Abstract

As a coastal country, Vietnam relies on marine exploitation for food security and livelihoods. The contribution of scientific research in the field of fishing technology and fisheries resource protection plays an important role in social-economic development in general and sustainable marine fisheries in particular. After 65 years of establishment and development, the Institute of Marine Science and Fishing Technology, Nha Trang University has affirmed its acting and position in scientific research and technology transfer. Dozens of research projects have been deployed and hundreds peer-reviewed papers have been published in national and international journals, actively contributing to improving fishing efficiency and environmentally friendly fishing methods. These studies promote the sustainable development of capture fisheries, help the fishing community upgrade their income and make an important providing to solving social security issues and protecting the country's sovereignty over the sea and islands. In this paper, we review notable achievements in scientific research and technology transfer in fishing technology and fisheries resource protection at the Institute of Marine Science and Fishing Technology, Nha Trang University over the years.
